Sound Exposure Database Overview

Data is organized in much the same way that it is collected. That is, it is arranged based on the organizational structure of the plant it represents. Data is consolidated based on Department/Group, Job Classification, and Job Function. Sound exposures are computed by compiling individual sound samples, which correspond to distinct job tasks, into a sound exposure profile. Profiles are then used to represent specific Job Functions of a particular department/group. The hierarchy of exposure data for most sites can be illustrated in the following manner.
