Sound Exposure Database Overview
Data is organized in much the same way that it is collected. That is, it is arranged
based on the organizational structure of the plant it represents. Data is consolidated
based on Department/Group, Job Classification, and Job Function. Sound exposures are
computed by compiling individual sound samples, which correspond to distinct job tasks,
into a sound exposure profile. Profiles are then used to represent specific Job Functions
of a particular department/group. The hierarchy of exposure data for most sites can be
illustrated in the following manner.
