The National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) has 21 research priorities, of which Hearing Loss is one. The NORA Hearing Loss team is comprised of members from the government, universities, and industry who, because of their diverse backgrounds and employment settings, have different expectations about the management of a successful hearing loss prevention program,
People called upon to manage hearing loss prevention programs in industry come to the task with differing levels of preparation. The OSHA Noise Standard and Hearing Conservation Amendment require that programs be administered by a physicians or audiologist. No profession is given responsibility for noise monitoring.
The following questionnaire inquires about your training and your comfort level in managing a hearing loss prevention program. Please spend the 30 seconds to one minute it will take to complete the questionnaire. The results will be summarized and posted at this web site later in 1999.
